I am passionate about telling scientific stories, from neurobiology and biochemistry to emerging technologies and human behavior. As a neuroscience researcher, I recognized how genuinely exciting innovations can fail to resonate outside academic walls — but concise and creative communication can breakthrough them to increase access and amplify the impact of science in inspiring ways. 

I hold a M.S. in Neuroscience from the University of California San Diego and B.A.s in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology and Neuroscience from the University of Colorado Boulder. 

Currently, I serve as the Senior Science Writer & Communications Officer at Scripps Research, which is ranked among the most influential institutions in the world for its impact on innovation. I previously worked in corporate communications and public relations for biotechnology companies at Inizio Evoke, prior to which I was a science writing intern supporting external communications of biomedical and healthcare advances at Mass General Brigham. I have also enjoyed volunteering for various science outreach programs including Taste of Science and the Neuroscience Outreach Program. 

True to my roots as a native Coloradan, I love camping, climbing, and any other reason to spend time outside — which lately has been beach volleyball. I also enjoy creating with my hands: woodworking, sewing, ceramics, cooking, you name it! and having meaningful conversations with loved ones and strangers alike.
